İşbank secures a sustainable syndicated loan of USD 1.1 billion


İşbank has signed a sustainable syndicated loan deal on a 371-day maturity worth EUR 494.9 million and USD 584.5 million.

For the loan agreement, Bank of America, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank PJSC, Emirates NDB Capital Limited and Standard Chartered Bank acted as joint coordinators, Standard Chartered Bank as sustainability coordinator and Emirates NBD Bank (P.J.S.C) as agent bank. 

48 banks from 23 countries in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia participated in the loan which will be used to finance activities aimed at achieving positive environmental and/or social impact in line with İşbank's Sustainable Finance Framework. Ten new banks participated in the loan.

The all-in cost of the highest ticket was Euribor + 1.50% for the Euro tranche and SOFR + 1.75% for the US Dollar tranche.

In his statement regarding the syndicated loan, İşbank CEO Hakan Aran emphasized that sustainability-themed funding is an element of the Bank's strategic goals and said, "We will continue to support sustainable transformation in the economy through this external funding. With this USD 1.1 billion funding, we renewed the loan we obtained during the same period of the previous year by 124%. Through this syndicated loan, the total volume of external funding obtained by our Bank in 2024 exceeded USD 5 billion. Such resources are a tangible indicator of the confidence in our country and in İşbank, which is celebrating its centennial anniversary, and are important tools in achieving our Bank's goals. We will continue to support economic development in our second century." ​
